How do you feel?

Instant Renewal Breathwork

Purpose: This breathwork exercise is designed to offer you instant renewal by helping you centre yourself, ease anxiety, and refresh your mind and body. By concentrating on your breath, you can quickly restore balance, elevate your energy, and rejuvenate your body through enhanced oxygenation.

Let's Begin
1. Find Your Position: Sit comfortably in a cross-legged position. Ensure your waist, spine, chest, neck, and head are aligned and upright. Rest your hands gently on your lap.

2. Gaze and Focus: Without moving, fix your gaze at the tip of your nose and direct your focus to the space between your eyebrows. This helps centre your attention and calm your thoughts.

3. Breath Awareness: Begin to observe your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four, feeling the air fill your lungs and expand your chest.

4. Exhale Slowly: Exhale gently through your nose for a count of four, allowing the breath to flow out naturally and effortlessly.

5. Repeat the Cycle: Continue this cycle of inhalation and exhalation for a total of ten repetitions. Maintain a steady and relaxed rhythm throughout.

6. Concentration: Focus solely on the rhythm of your breath during this exercise. Let any distracting thoughts drift away, bringing your attention back to your breathing each time.

Benefits: This practice provides you with instant renewal by regulating your breathing and calming your mind. It enhances your ability to direct your thoughts, raises your vibrational energy, and revitalises your body through improved oxygenation.

The Rebel Seagull

It’s early morning, and I’m standing on the train platform, lost in my repeat song of the moment. I look up at the time board, there’s 7 minutes until the next train arrives. I notice a flock of seagulls effortlessly gliding across the sky, their movements almost choreographed, forming sweeping arcs and waves that seem to match the rhythm of my music.

One breaks away from the group and begins its own dance. Little rebel. She's taken my attention to her own performance. Moving in perfect harmony with the beat of my song. Gliding high, dipping low and creating beautiful patterns. Magnifique. She's not hunting or avoiding danger, she's enjoying the moment. Picture it, a silver bright morning sun, a bright blue sky and fresh autumn air. I twist my head as far as possible, determined not to miss a second of this beautiful moment, feeling the strain in my neck but not minding. As my song nears its end, the seagull mirrors its final notes and drifts further away rejoining the flock. She fades out leaving me with a joyful memory.

The next morning I return to the station. I let the first train pass, captivated by the beautiful sunrise in the light rain. My song plays again, reminding me of yesterday's moment with the rebel seagull. I look for her, letting another train go by. Finally, I spot a flock of birds and turn the music up. None of them can dance.

Life inevitably brings us four things: joy, pain, warmth, and cold. Embracing these experiences helps us truly live in the present.

The Devoted Spider

This morning, just as the first light of day began to touch the earth, I noticed something incredible outside my window. A spider adding the final touches to a beautiful web. An intricate creation of nature stood before me, with tiny droplets sparkling like little diamonds on the silk. It was as if a tiny artist had carefully crafted this masterpiece while the rest of the world slept.

I admired the spider's dedication. There it was, racing up and down its delicate structure, fine-tuning every strand preparing for his day ahead. I couldn't help but be impressed by its relentless work ethic. For the spider, this web wasn't just a creation, it was a matter of survival.

As I watched, it struck me how this tiny creature’s existence revolved around this single web. Whether it would capture insects or fall prey to a passing bird was all tied to forces beyond its control, its fate written by nature and its own karma. Unlike us, who have some say in our destiny through our actions and the ability to enquire about the nature of our existence, the spider had no choice but to live out its life according to nature’s laws. In that moment, I thought about how every creature, every living being, is struggling and striving for survival just like we are.

As the spider continued its tireless work, I realised that perhaps we could learn something from its devotion. We can shape our own fate with our choices and commitment to our duties, while also recognising our profound connection with all life around us.
